What the app collects about you

Nothing. There is no account to create, no sign-in, no email address requested, no analytics, and no advertising identifier. Bhashegalu never asks who you are, and nothing it sends is tied to you or to a profile.

That is different from saying nothing is ever sent. Some optional features do send the text you typed so a server can answer. What that means is set out below.

What is sent, and when

The Hindi-Kannada dictionary, the script chart and the essays are bundled inside the app. Browsing, searching, the chart, the quiz and the word of the day all work with the device in airplane mode, and send nothing.

Four features are optional, and each one only runs when you ask it to:

• Look up a word that is not in the bundled dictionary. Sends only that one word.
• Tutor. Sends the sentences you type, plus the recent messages in that conversation so the reply makes sense. It is behind a consent screen you have to accept once.
• Song breakdowns. Sends only the song title you enter.
• Read aloud and the essay list. Sends the article text to be turned into speech, and fetches the published essays.

One more control sends text: the report button under an AI answer sends the word, the song title, or up to the first 120 characters of the tutor reply you are reporting, so that answer can be reviewed, and the server keeps that report for 30 days.

Requests go to Bhashegalu’s own server (a Cloudflare Worker). Answers are produced by Anthropic’s API, and read-aloud audio by Microsoft Azure’s speech service. Your messages are not used to train AI models.

Nothing sent carries a name, an account, a device identifier or an advertising identifier, so there is no profile to build and none is built.

What the server keeps

Answers are cached by the thing that was asked, so a second person asking about the same word gets the stored answer instead of a fresh one. The cache is keyed by the word, the song title or the text, never by who asked.

To stop one machine from running up costs, the server counts requests per day against the requesting IP address. That counter holds the IP for about a day and then expires. It is used only to enforce the daily limit, is never linked to anything you typed, and is never used to identify you, profile you or advertise to you.

Cloudflare, Anthropic and Microsoft each process requests under their own privacy terms as part of delivering these features.

Tracking and advertising

Bhashegalu contains no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. It does not use the Advertising Identifier, does not track you across apps or websites, and is not part of any data broker relationship.

Data stored on your device

Your preferences, the words you have looked up, your tutor conversation, saved song breakdowns and your script practice progress are stored only on your own device, in the app’s private storage. They are not readable by other apps, are not backed up to any server operated by Bhashegalu, and are deleted when you delete the app. You can clear the tutor conversation from inside the tutor, and remove a saved lookup by swiping it away.

Children

Bhashegalu is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since it never asks who you are and stores nothing that identifies you, there is no personal data to delete on request.

This website

bhashegalu.com is a static site served by Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Cloudflare processes standard request logs, such as IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting the site; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which receives the request in order to serve the font files.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it, and any change that affects what is collected or transmitted will be made before the relevant version of the app is released.
